Alexandre Labreche is the Founder and CEO of Pluvo (formerly Rain Technologies), a decision intelligence platform revolutionizing how businesses approach financial planning and strategic decision-making. Based in both Ottawa and San Francisco, Alex was part of Andreesen Horowitz’s prestigious a16z speedrun SR006 cohort. Alex is reshaping the future of enterprise decision-making through AI-powered automation.

Alex founded Rain Technologies while still a student at the University of Ottawa, initially building budgeting software for the Canadian public sector before pivoting to create Pluvo, a platform that transforms financial planning and corporate strategy from a quarterly ritual into a continuous, company-wide decision system. Under his leadership, Pluvo has evolved from an academic project into an enterprise-grade FP&A solution serving mid-market and enterprise clients across North America.

A former minor league hockey player turned fintech entrepreneur, Alex brings a unique perspective to the intersection of finance, technology, and strategic planning. He led his engineering team through Salesforce certification and directed a complete technology stack rebuild in under three months, demonstrating the rapid execution that defines his leadership approach.

Alex speaks authoritatively on the transformation of finance functions in the AI era, the evolution from traditional budgeting to continuous planning, and the death of spreadsheet-driven FP&A. He has wanted to connect strategy and finance since day one, even before the technology was available to make it possible.

His insights on financial planning automation and decision intelligence have positioned him as an emerging voice in the fintech and SaaS sectors. Alex's vision centers on democratizing enterprise-grade strategic decision-making, making sophisticated financial planning accessible to organizations regardless of their resources—not just those with hundred-person finance teams.
